Jane Barwis

As founder, president and CEO of Brand Resources Group (BRG), Barwis is committed to producing creative and meaningful work; empowering staff to reach their full potential; building and sustaining strong client relationships; and affecting change through professional and philanthropic endeavors.
After a 15 year career in senior leadership positions at leading global communications firms, Barwis launched BRG in 2001 to achieve her vision of an agency built on talent, flexibility, uncommon performance and results. Under her leadership, BRG has been recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as a "Hot 100" company to watch, named the “Fastest Growing Communications Agency in the Country” by PR Week, and consistently recognized by regional business publications as a fast growth company.
Prior to forming BRG, Barwis served as a senior vice president and director of the Brand Practice for the Ketchum Southeast office. Accounts in her practice included Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Cingular Wireless, Delta Airlines, JC Penney, Nokia, STP, MCI, and several brands in the P&G family. With the support of global healthcare experts in the Ketchum network, she also built and launched a healthcare practice servicing such clients as Novartis, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
A recipient of the prestigious Stevie Award for Women Entrepreneurs, Barwis is a strong supporter of issues and causes that educate, empower and improve the lives of women. She serves on the board of the Women’s Center in McLean, VA, a nonprofit organization delivering quality mental health counseling, career services and educational programs to women and families regardless of their ability to pay. In addition to board responsibilities, she chairs the development committee and serves on the executive committee.
Barwis is also a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization of DC, National Association of Women Business Owners, Public Relations Society of America, Washington Women in PR, and National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Business and Professional Women’s Council. She is an alumnus of the Wolf Trap Education Foundation’s Board of Directors.
